Union Hospital’s Maternity Center can help you and your baby get the best start possible. We offer a variety of services both before and after your baby arrives:
Expectant families are welcome to tour our new Maternity Center and talk to our staff planning their childbirth. This is a good time to ask questions about the options available and become comfortable in the surroundings that will be so important to the family in the near future. For a personal tour of the new Maternity Center at Union Hospital and to discuss the birth experience you are seeking, please call us at 330-364-0853.
Couples who will be delivering their baby at Union Hospital are eligible to take part in our free Childbirth Education Class. The class meets on a Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and helps first-time parents know what to expect before, during, and after the birth of their baby. Our experienced Maternity nurses help parents learn more about the labor process and their anesthesia options. Lamaze breathing techniques are introduced and practiced. The class also teaches care of the newborn and postpartum care of mother. The session concludes with a tour of the Maternity Center. For the date of the next class and to enroll, call the Maternity Center at (330) 343-3311, ext. 2266.
The Lactation Office at the Union Hospital Maternity Center provides education and support for breastfeeding mothers while they are in the hospital and on an outpatient basis.
