Union Hospital’s popular – and free – community walking program will enable participants to join the Cleveland Cavaliers and take on Stephen Curry, “KD” Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and those dreaded Golden State Warriors just before Game 3 of the NBA Finals on June 7.
“Walk With A Doc,” sponsored by the hospital’s Community Health and Wellness program, moves for the summer to the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds at Dover on June 7 (Wednesday) at 4:30 p.m. Walkers are encouraged to wear their favorite LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love or any other Cavs’ jersey and gear, and join Dr. James Goff of East Ohio Orthopaedics at Dover for a refreshing walk around the fairgrounds.
Walkers will meet in Cloverleaf Café at the fairgrounds, receive free blood-pressure checks, hear a health-related talk from Dr. Goff and then take in the sights, sounds and smells of the Farmers Market during the walk around the fairgrounds. Get your adrenaline going before the Cavs and Warriors battle that night in Cleveland, too!
The entire event is free, no pre-registration is necessary and the Union Hospital Nutrition Services staff also will provide a free healthy snack and water for walkers. For more details, call (330) 308-3599 or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Dr. Goff is an American Board of Family Medicine certified physician with an added qualification in sports medicine. A Stark County native, he has served as the team doctor for numerous high schools. Dr. Goff graduated from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency at Aultman Hospital and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Ohio State University.
The Walk With A Doc events will be held the first Wednesday of each month at the Farmers Market through the month of October.
