The Union Hospital Auxiliary invites the community to celebrate a long-awaited spring thaw at its annual “Tea in the Garden” scheduled Saturday, March 17, at noon in the Tuscarawas County Senior Center at Dover.
Guests will be treated to a British-inspired tea, complete with delicious courses and desserts prepared by the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Tea is served in china from Auxiliary members’ personal collections. The afternoon also will feature a program presented by Laurie Brown with Laurie Brown Designs, Ian Wambolt from the House of Stones and music guest, Jerome James.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling Holly Hillyer at Union Hospital at (330) 364-0884. Tickets are sold in advance only and groups of up to six people wishing to sit together are encouraged to call early. The reservation deadline is March 9 and tickets will not be sold at the door.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Union Hospital Auxiliary and are used to help purchase patient care equipment.
“We are very excited about this year’s Tea in the Garden,” said event co-chair Kiley Kendall of Dover. “We are moving toward a more traditional ladies’ tea this year, and we are pleased to be able to host the event at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Many people have already begun asking about tickets.”
A “Chinese Auction” and a raffle will round out the day and each guest will receive a complimentary teacup and saucer to take home.
Angie Thomas of Dover, project co-chair, said the Tea in the Garden will be a welcome break from a long, cold winter.
“This is a time to celebrate the coming of spring and to relax with friends and feel a little pampered,” Thomas said.
